Requirements for PTDF postgraduate scholarship

For PTDF Master’s (M.Sc) scholarship, you are required to:

  • Be a citizen of Nigeria.
  • Possess a First Class or Second Class (Upper) Bachelor’s degree (B.Sc) in any Information Technology related field.
  • Have not previously benefited from the Agency’s Scholarship Scheme.

For PTDF Doctorate (PhD) scholarship, you are required to:

  • Be a citizen of Nigeria.
  • Be a Nigerian University or Polytechnic lecturer.
  • Possess a Master’s degree (M.Sc) in any Information Technology related field.

There will be verification of your original certificates and oral interview at the final stage of the award process.

All courses under Information Technology or its related field in any of the NIGERIAN UNIVERSITIES qualifies you for NITDA scholarship for graduates.

How to apply for PTDF postgraduate scholarship

The application for PTDF scholarship for graduates is strictly an ONLINE process which is best done on any of the following web browsers:

Pre-Application process for PTDF scholarship

1. You should have the following documents clearly scanned before starting your application process: 

  • Recent Passport photograph.
  • Master’s degree certificate (for M.Sc applicants).
  • Doctorate degree certificate (for PhD applicants).

Scan and attach your passport photograph (in JPG format) which should not be larger than 50KB and convert your certificate to a PDF file which should not be larger than 100KB.

Application process for PTDF scholarship

  1. Visit the official PTDF SCHOLARSHIP SITE
  2. Click on “CREATE AN APPLICATION ACCOUNT”.
  3. Fill in your details.
  4. Check your email for the instructions on how to login and create your password.
  5. Login with your email as username and the password you created.
  6. Click “VERIFY NIN” before you start a new application.
    • If you are just verifying your NIN, fill the fields and agree to the terms (charges may apply).
    • If you have tried to verify your NIN and it was not successful, do NOT try the second time as you will be charged twice.
    • Click on the RED button with text “Click here for all failed NIN verification” then enter your payment transaction reference and NIN to complete the verification.
  7. Read and accept the terms and conditions to continue with the application.
  8. Fill in your details as required.
  9. Accept the terms and conditions stating that PTDF has the right to award another University that is different from the ones you select in this application.
  10. Choose your first second or third choice University and courses.
    • If your first choice is a German University, you must choose Abuja as your choice for interview.
  11. Upload your statement of purpose (for M.Sc applicants) or Research Proposal (For PhD applicants).
  12. Upload your birth certificate, LGA certificate.
    • Note that PDF sizes should be less than 300KB.
  13. Upload journal or publication (maximum of 5), academic membership of any professional body (maximum of 5).
  14. Preview your application to ensure that there are no mistakes before submission.
    • Once application is submitted, you can no longer edit.
